Deb Burton is Lead Consultant at Haven Senior Investments, where she advises owners and operators across every phase of senior living, including acquisitions, new development, turnaround projects, and hotel-to-senior-living conversions, for business models ranging from Medi-Cal and insurance-based affordable care to high-end private pay.
Deb brings 35 years of senior living and post-acute experience, including several years as the owner-operator of her own assisted living community. She founded her first senior care company in the early 1990s, operating mid-size assisted living facilities alongside a non-medical staffing agency, and went on to serve as a Vendor and Instructor with California Community Care Licensing, training new administrators and owners on how to operate assisted living communities successfully. She has also held senior executive leadership roles with a national senior living operator, overseeing a region spanning eight states and nearly 50 communities.
Since 2015, Deb has worked as a consultant to senior living and healthcare owners, helping them meet their business goals while delivering excellent care to the seniors and adults they serve. She brings an owner's, operator's, and regulator's perspective to every engagement, and a practical understanding of what it takes to stabilize, grow, or reposition a community.
